2018 Jaguar XF Sportbrake pricing and specs

Australian pricing and specifications for the 2018 Jaguar XF Sportbrake range have been announced this week ahead of the new wagon’s launch Down Under in November.

Starting from $90,400 plus on-road costs for the entry-level 20d R-Sport, the XF Sportbrake line-up starts some $15,000 more than the most affordable XF sedan, though there’s no base Prestige trim grade for the Jaguar wagon.

Equipment additions in R-Sport specification include rear air suspension, gloss black roof rails, sporty enhancements like an R-Sport front bumper and tailgate spoiler, xenon headlights with LED daytime-running lights, a powered tailgate, 19-inch alloy wheels, grained leather/mesh seat trim with contrast stitching, an R-Sport steering wheel, climate control, electric steering column adjustment, and 10-way electric front seats with driver memory.

There’s also ambient interior lighting, dual-zone climate control with rear air vents, an 8.0-inch InControl touchscreen with satellite navigation, push-button start, autonomous emergency braking (AEB), a rear-view camera, lane departure warning, front and rear parking sensors, along with park assist.

Available engines for the XF Sportbrake in R-Sport trim include a 132kW ’20d’ 2.0-litre turbo-diesel and a 184kW ’25t’ 2.0-litre turbo petrol – the latter asking for a slightly dearer $91,400 plus ORCs. Claimed fuel consumption is rated at 4.8L/100km and 6.8L/100km combined for the diesel and petrol respectively.

All versions of the XF Sportbrake in Australia send drive to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Next grade up in the range is the 30d S, which kicks off at $123,450 before ORCs. Additional equipment includes Jaguar’s Configurable and Adaptive Dynamics systems, more aggressive S bumpers, an infrared reflective windscreen, adaptive LED headlights with auto high beam assist, different 19-inch alloy wheels, grained leather/suede cloth seat trim, an ‘S’-branded steering wheel, ‘bright metal’ pedals,  DAB+ digital radio,a head-up display, and a surround camera system.

The 30d S is powered by a 221kW 3.0-litre turbo-diesel, which claims fuel use of 5.9L/100km on the combined cycle.

Finally, there’s the 30d First Edition, which asks for $137,300 plus ORCs. Extra kit as part of the additional spend includes a special ‘Farallon Pearl Black’ exterior paint, a fixed panoramic sunroof, silver roof rails, a gesture-operated power tailgate, a gesture-operated roof blind, the larger 10-inch Navigation Pro infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, along with Jaguar’s wearable Activity Key.

LIke the 30d S, the First Edition is available exclusively with the 221kW 3.0-litre turbo-diesel engine.

The XF Sportbrake is also available with an array of options and option packages, including the Active Safety Pack ($4360, all variants) – which includes driver assist systems like blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, along with lane-keep assist and driver condition monitoring – and the Cold Climate Pack ($2540, all variants) – adding a heated windscreen, heated front and rear seats and a heated steering wheel.

Other packages include the Driver and Passenger Memory Pack ($3210, all variants) – includes 18-way electric front seats with driver and passenger memory, perforated grained leather trim with contrast stitching – and the InControl Touch Pro Navigation Pack with Meridian Surround Sound ($5280 – R-Sport, S) – adding the larger 10-inch Navigation Pro system, 12.3-inch digital driver’s display and a Meridian digital surround sound system.

Various alloy wheel designs are offered at an extra cost, while metallic paints command between $2110 and $4210 depending on the chosen hue. There’s also several interior veneer choices that ask for $1060-$3470.
